Minor victory over my own stupidity

I'm rusty when it comes to taking notes, I noticed that very early on last year. And over the 'net my classes are hard to hear, so I'd miss a lot. Naturally, that really bugged me. So last Spring I bought some software that would allow me to easily record the classes. About the same time, the professors never heard me during roll call, etc. My headset was pretty thrashed last year, and I was only using the microphone off of it anyway, didn't really think much of it. One other online student said I could only be heard a little bit by him, probably too quiet for the classroom.

Fast forward to this year, and I get into Dr. Dyer's class--and he actually involves us. My inability to be heard really is a hindrance (finally!) So I save up my pennies and get a new headset. I go into class very confidently on Tuesday.

And he still can't hear me.

Well, unless you're slower than me, you've already figured it out. It was my software that was causing the problem. After class on Tuesday, I spent less than 10 minutes playing with settings and got the stupid thing fixed. Today, Dr. Dyer and I actually conversed, I led the class in prayer, and was able to answer one question (so far).

Small victory, but very satisfactory.
